I’ve been collecting nests for a few years. I’ve had several bird houses that been designed to remove the nest, since some birds won’t use another bird’s nest. Often I find them the in park after a windy day.
OK. I’ll admit that what is pictured is a rather lame display of my collection. I promise to document to entire collection. And, out of three praying mantis nests that I had for years (presumed dead) one hatched in my living room. About fifty praying mantis’ had to be relocated rather quickly. So hopefully there will be an abundance of praying mantis in Titusville, NJ this year. I’ll take a photo of the nest that was live as well.

I have, literally, a hummingbird nest. I had never seen one before, but this past summer, there was a nest built outside our kitchen window. I photographed it often, and when I was away, there was a big storm and it came down. My wife saved it for me. A prized possession.
